20 Questions About Me

I was tagged in a meme last week and it was just the thing I needed to pull me out of my most recent funk (you will, of course, read more about it later). So without further ado, let me give thanks to Mari, the PDXer to be, for thinking of me for this challenge. P.S. - You can see her answers here!

There are rules:

Rule #1: the tagged person must write their answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

Rule #2: tag 4 people to do this quiz; they cannot refuse (Relax! Nothing bad will happen if you don't but we all really would love to see your answers).

Rule #3: The tagee must state who tagged them.

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?
Oh yes, my dog Klea is definitely family. She's my fur baby and everybody knows that their needs come before mine but after hers. :)

2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?
I have always dreamed of being a professional dancer. When I was younger, I would have given my left leg to be the next Ginger Rogers.
3. What would you do with a billion dollars?
ONE BILLION DOLLARS! Whoo-hoo!
Well, I'd get $10,000 in one dollars bills and roll around in it naked screaming, "I'm Rich! I'm Rich! I'm Rich!". Once that's out of my system, I'd set up trust funds for my two youngest sisters (ages 10 & 12), give my favorite sister, Natalie, the money to start her business, and then get on the next flight out of Columbus. Six months of travel and I'd be in an RE's office getting preggo.

4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
Good, folksy, acoustic music. I'm talking Priscilla Ahn, Tyrone Wells, Kelly Sweet and Amos Lee. Their music is the stuff that dreams are made of.

5. What is your bedtime routine?
I wake up around 11:30p, peel myself off the couch, let Klea out one more time, brush my teeth and crawl into bed.

6. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your significant other? If you aren’t, what have you tried in the past few years to meet someone?
After ending things with the boy, I hit an intense low and decided to focus on just me. I've met people socially but I didn't make any real efforts.

7. What kind of books do you read?
I'll read anything. I've never started a book I didn't finish. But I prefer romantic novels and chick lit over all other genres.

8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to be a mother of at least two. I'd like to be married to a strong man with a stable income so that I could stay home. And of course, Klea-Wea will be trotting along beside me.

9. What’s your fear?
I'm afraid that I'll be a failure at life. Tat some higher power will deem me unworthy of all my aspirations and I'll die alone and with nothing.
10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?
Space is not that important to me. I can see the stars from my porch.

11. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Groan at the alarm clock, scratch Klea's head, and stretch.

12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be? Or, if you’re single - if you could choose a significant other who looked like anyone in the world, who would it be?
I'm single so... I mean... this is totally self explanatory, right?

13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
Arianna Skye. I love everything about this name. Arianna is so beautiful when written and spoken; it means "very holy one". Skye is something that I saw in movie credits for "Don't Say A Word" and decided right then that it was the perfect name for a little girl. A little new age, a little folksy, a little hippy, and so ethereal.

14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
Sun! I <3 the beach. L.A. was the best place I've ever lived. 24/7/365ish of pure sunshine.

15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
Thin crust spinach pizza. It covers most food groups and is just so yummy!

16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?
Connecting with other people. It's so hard to meet new people in today's world. Especially since technology seems to be pulling us all farther apart. Blogging is a way to re-connect with people. Someone, somewhere is thinking about me because they understand me.

17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?
Chocolate-covered pretzels.

18. What items are in your purse right now?
My wallet (emergency $20 cash, bank cards, health ins cards & blood donor card), Nook, check book, Carmex, ink pen, receipts from the past week, pepper spray, 3 sets of keys, hair brush, 2 tampons, 1 sanitary pad, eyeglasses in case, mini manicure kit, hair ties, eye drops, packet of tissues, chewing gum, contact solution, Excedrin & Zyrtec. Obviously, I should be your emergency go-to person.

19. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go?
The beach. This is the easiest decision I'll make all day.

20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn’t?
Gordon Ramsey shows. He's so mean! But I love it.

Wow! I almost thought I wouldn't finish. It's time to nominate four other ladies to give us their answers. I shall choose:

Jendo at The Pause

Rachel at Chasing Mommyhood

Andrea at Single Canadian Mom by Choice

Patty at Endo Confessions

OK ladies. If you've been chosen before, I apologize. I have admittedly been slacking in the blog reading/posting department so please forgive.

Thanks again! Big hugs to everyone who has tried and not gotten their BFP and Major congrats to all of the new mommies!
